Many of Britain’s rare guitars just don’t get played and spend their lives in either a garage, spare bedroom, or a safe secure lock up. Britain’s Rare Guitars provides a platform for these amazing guitars to be shown off in all their glory.

Barry Gaskell
Barry Gaskell
Barry has been a great supporter of Britain’s Rare Guitars right from the very start. As well as being a collector of guitars for over 40 years, he is an extremley accomplished pedal steel player, and has toured extensively.
Ben Morgan
Ben Morgan
Ben from ‘The Gear Garage’ is the new boy on the block, but is fast becoming one of the country’s top collectors. He can be found exhibiting his early 50’s Gibson Les Paul Gold Top guitars, Les Paul Juniors, his awesome Flying V and Trini Lopez models at most of the guitar shows around the UK. Always great to have him as a guest on the show.
Simon Jones
Simon Jones
Simon Jones is a professional musician and collector based in the South West of England. Where many collectors look to buy 50s, 60s and 70s big name brands Simon has a real eclectic mix of instruments right across the decades from 19th Century flemenco guitars to the 80’s super strats like an Ibanez Jems as used by Steve Vai, a few Roscoe and Ritz guitars as used by the group Heart and a beautiful Nick Page guitar that was once owned and tweeked by Eddie Van Halen. He loves his 50s Archtop guitars too. Check out Simon’s chat with Lars Mullen at 14.30pm on the Main Stage.
Mike Long
Mike Long
Mike has been playing guitar since the age of 13 and has worked in the music industry since the early 80s – first as a live sound engineer then as a studio engineer recording many well-respected acts such as Blur, Manic Street Preachers, James, Cocteau Twins, PJ Harvey, and Spiritualized. In recent years Mike has been travelling the world seeking out the best and rarest examples of vintage musical instruments. During this time Mike has sold well over 3,500 vintage and rare guitars, amps and basses to every corner of the globe.
John Horne
John Horne
John started collecting guitars many years ago when he finished playing with his MECCA band. He started long before it became fashionable, and now probably has one of the finest collections in the country, Can’t wait to see what he brings to the exhibition this year!
Gary Davies
Gary Davies
Gary started collecting late in life, but has certainly made it for it of late. At the age of 72 Gary’s mum sadly passed away and left him some money. Gary was 50 at the time and the £1,000 she left (which was all the money she had left) he spent on the guitar. Basically he spent the lot on a blue USA tele. As his collection grew, so did his obsession for Annivesary Stratocasters. So much so that he has recently produced a book all about them.
